On the eve serving two years of existence, the new forestry law (1651/2012) has not took off, at least in the question regarding the environmental restoration of rural properties. Interestingly, however, that no liability (amnesty) for illegal deforestation occurred by 2008, another face of the same law is in full effect from the first day of its publication.
The main reason why virtually no native species of seed was planted to date, anywhere in the country, to reforest river borders or springs, is waiting for the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR). As explained here , the CAR will aim to identify potential environmental liabilities in more than 5 million of the country ‘s real estate and get an owner ‘s commitment to recover them. Like the vast majority of producers still unaware of its existence and, among those who know that it will come, much is waiting for its actual implementation to know exactly if and how much will have to recover from forests, the result is a big strike in forest restoration initiatives in the country.
