Imaflora, in partnership with the Institute of Forestry Research and Studies (IPEF), held on 17/03 Update Seminar on New Forestry Law. The purpose of the meeting, whose landowners audience and technicians who work in forestry, is to update participants on the obligations and terms of the new legislation as well as publicize the activities of the Observatory of the Forest Code.
The seminar takes place at the Amphitheater of the Department of Forest Science at USP, in Piracicaba, and is coordinated by researchers Maria José Brito Zakia and Luis Fernando Guedes Pinto. Among the topics to be discussed are the definitions of the Permanent Preservation Areas (APP), the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) and the approval of PL 219, law regulating the Forest Code in the state of São Paulo.

[:es]El seminario tendrá lugar en el Anfiteatro del Departamento de Ciencias Forestales de la USP, en Piracicaba, y está coordinado por investigadores María José Brito Zakia y Luis Fernando Guedes Pinto. Entre los temas a tratar son las definiciones de las Áreas de Preservación Permanente (APP), el Registro Ambiental Rural (CAR) y la aprobación del PL 219, ley que regula el Código Forestal en el estado de Sao Paulo.
