A year of the Forest CodeTuesday May 21st, 2013

A few days before the one-year anniversary of the adoption of the new Forest Code, much has been said, but little has been done. The Federal Law. 12,651 (May 26, 2012) has not yet come to that. It seems that all it took was the amnesty of environmental liabilities of approximately 40 million hectares of savannahs and forests illegally deforested before July 2008. The vaunted advances of the new code are still regulatory processes and completely stuck implementation.
