CAR does not take into account the reality of peoples and traditional communities
The current Forest Code (Law No. 12,651 / 2012) establishes that the Indigenous Lands and titled territories of other peoples and traditional communities be included in the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR). For this, give similar treatment to the rural property of small farmers, including the possibility of government assistance in its realization and priority in receiving incentives for the recovery of native vegetation.

Longer only for indigenous people, quilombolas, agrarian reform settlers and farmers
The Center's Forest Code (OCF), network of 25 civil society organizations, positions itself contrary to the proposed extension of the deadline in the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR), indistinctly, as Senate Bill No. 287/2015. This extension would generate many negative effects on the implementation of the Forest Code. Instead of undifferentiated extension, OCF advocates a term extension for the registration of real estate and access to transitional benefits of the Forest Code, exclusively, indigenous, quilombolas and other traditional peoples and communities, the settlers of the agrarian reform and family farming, that should have been registered by the government.
