Registration for the first are open Open Government course for leaders in Climate, Forest and Agriculture promoted by Imaflora, with the support of CLUA (Climate and Land Use Alliance) and partnership of institutions Article 19 Data School, Open Knowledge Brazil, Public agenda, Climate Observatory, Observatory of the Forest Code, ICV (Center of Life Institute), Ministry of Transparency and Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) and OAS Fellowship Open Government in the Americas.
Aimed at professionals who work with forest, agricultural and climate policies, the course aims to spread the concept, principles and open government practices, approach organizations that work with the theme and mobilize participants to use the instruments of participation, transparency and accountability in their organizations.
The course is free and is organized in three stages, the first being the distance, which takes place in September, to face the second to be held at the Imaflora on 4, 5 and 6 October and the third focused on drafting projects that will be presented in December this year, at the conclusion of the course.
Renato Morgado, public policy coordinator Imaflora, “the existence and proper functioning of instruments of participation, transparency and accountability, that is, open government, are necessary conditions for the development and implementation of public policies able to reconcile environmental conservation, economic development and guarantee of rights. Morgado maintains that these elements allow the construction of solutions with more legitimacy, agreement and trust between the different sectors and effectiveness. “
The course aimed at members of civil society organizations, public agencies and private sector working with Climate, Forest and Agriculture is a pioneering initiative in Brazil. Through an innovative approach will articulate theoretical and practical knowledge in the subjects transparency, access to information and open data, social participation, open government and Accountability.
