Forest Code: OCF advocates transparency in access to information
Friday October 14th, 2016The Brazilian Forest Service and the Ministry of Environment have 120 days to implement measures to ensure the transparency that environmental information, aligning to the Access to Information Act. The recommendation is the Federal Public Ministry.
SFB, for example, should make available on the internet a lot of information related to the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR) – owners’ names, property area, remaining areas, native vegetation, among others.
The Center’s Forest Code defends the transparency of public information as a fundamental element for the rapid and qualified implementation of Law No. 12,657 / 2012, the Forest Code, and fully supports the recommendation of the prosecution. Learn more here .
